Vaccines at a Pharmacy?

By January 3, 2017September 24th, 2019No Comments

The big national pharmacy chains make it very easy to get vaccinated. You can walk into any CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid or any other big drug store and be faced with that big sign staring you in the face “Get your vaccinations here!”flu-shots-sign-400x225

So you can get the Flu Shot, HPV shot, Pneumonia (Pneumococcol), Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, Chickenpox (Varicella), Meningitis (Meningococcal), MMR (Measles, Mumps and Rubella), Tdap (Whooping Cough), but should you?

The answer may be a loud yes, but I would strongly encourage you to speak with your physician before taking any vaccine. They may advise you to wait, or they may strongly encourage you to get vaccinated. Knowledge is the key. Be an informed patient.

Vaccine injuries are rare but they can occur. Some of the most common vaccine injuries are Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS), Shoulder Injuries related to Vaccine Administration (SIRVA), Transverse Myelitis and others.
